President Lee Myung-bak of the Republic of Korea (ROK) arrived in Beijing Tuesday afternoon, starting a four-day state visit to China as guest of Chinese President Hu Jintao.

During Lee's stay, Hu will hold talks with him. Premier Wen Jiabao and Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, will also meet with him.

Lee is scheduled to deliver a speech at Beijing University on Thursday morning, and visit the National Stadium, known as the Bird's Nest.

Lee will also visit the coastal city of Qingdao in east Shandong Province, where China's home appliance giant Haier Group and some ROK companies are located.

This is Lee's first state visit to China since he took office on February 25.
