Japan delivered 400 tents to China on a chartered commercial flight Monday.

The tents, which were provided by Japan's Hyogo and Aichi prefectures, serve as additional relief aid to China's quake-hit southwestern areas

The flight took off from Kansai International Airport, heading for Chengdu, capital of China's quake-hit Sichuan Province.

Japan has sent relief and medical teams separately to China to help with rescue operations in the worst-hit areas since the 8.0 magnitude earthquake occurred on May 12.
