Japan is to deliver another 800 tents to China's quake-hit southwestern areas Wednesday, said Foreign Minister Masahiko Komura Tuesday.

The tents, along with the 400 tents already sent to Sichuan Province's capital Chengdu on a chartered flight Monday, serve as additional relief aid to China's quake-hit southwestern areas.

Japan might possibly provide further relief aid to China if necessary, said Komura.

Japan has sent relief and medical teams separately to China to help with rescue operations in the worst-hit areas since the 8.0 magnitude earthquake occurred on May 12.
