The Japan government delivered another 800 tents to southwestern China's quake-hit areas Wednesday.

The chartered flight carrying the tents left Narita International Airport, east of Tokyo, in the morning.

Among the batch of tents, 700 were from the Japan International Cooperation Agency, a government-affiliated body, while the other 100 were from the Defense Ministry and the Self-Defense Forces.

The Japanese government sent the first batch of 400 tents provided by Hyogo and Aichi prefectures to China via the Kansai International Airport on Monday.

Japan has dispatched rescue and medical assistance teams to China following the devastating earthquake on May 12. The Japanese government provided 500 million yen (about 4.81 million U.S. dollars) in capital and material relief aid to China immediately after the earthquake, and announced additional aid of 500 million yen on May 30.
