China is to work with Equatorial Guinea to increase cooperation in various fields and raise bilateral ties to a new level, said State Councilor Dai Bingguo in Beijing Tuesday.

Dai made the remarks in a meeting with Equatorial Guinean Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, French Affairs Pastor Micha Ondo Bile, who is here to hand over a donation of one million euros to the Chinese government for quake relief.

Dai expressed gratitude for the Equatorial Guinean government's sympathy and donation to China, saying that this indicates the profound friendship between the two peoples.

Hailing the healthy, stable and smooth growth of bilateral relations, Dai said China and Equatorial Guinea enjoy mutual trust in politics and win-win cooperation in economy and trade.

China values the relations with Equatorial Guinea, and is ready to make concerted efforts with Equatorial Guinea to push forward bilateral relations, said Dai.

Micha said the Equatorial Guinean government and people were in deep sorrow after the May 12 earthquake hit China's Sichuan province. Micha extended sympathy to the Chinese people, saying the Equatorial Guinean government was ready to offer help within its capacity. He also spoke highly of China's relief work.

Micha said the Equatorial Guinean government and people always regard China as their best friend, and will work with China to promote bilateral relations.

Micha expressed his appreciation of China's preparation works for the Olympic games, and wished success for the Beijing Olympics.

Micha is on a working visit to China from June 17 to 22.
