Visiting Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping met Mongolia's parliament leader here Friday and said he had reached a wide-ranging consensus with Mongolian leaders on ways of advancing the good-neighborly partnership of mutual trust between the two countries.

During the meeting with Danzangiin Lundeejantsan, chairman of the State Great Hural of Mongolia, Xi said China and Mongolia are friendly neighbors and developing relations with Mongolia has always been one of China's foreign policy priorities.

China has been working on enhancing friendship and mutual trust and deepening mutually beneficial cooperation with Mongolia so as to achieve common development, Xi said, adding that the policy will remain unchanged.

Xi, who arrived here Thursday for a three-day goodwill visit, said there are now important opportunities for the two countries to further develop their relations. China is ready to work with Mongolia to take further steps to implement the consensus and key points of cooperation which Chinese President Hu Jintao and his Mongolian counterpart Nambaryn Enkhbayar reached at the Boao Forum for Asia earlier this year, he said.

Xi said China is also ready for further studies and discussions on the cooperation intent shared by the two sides during his current visit and make further efforts to consolidate the basis for mutually beneficial cooperation.

Xi lauded the friendly contacts between the legislatures of the two countries and expressed the hope for closer exchanges and cooperation between the two sides.

Lundeejantsan said Mongolia attaches great importance to developing relations with China and is looking forward to strengthening cooperation with China in its national development, which is the consensus by all the political parties in Mongolia.

The State Great Hural of Mongolia is ready to maintain contact with China's National People's Congress so as to jointly promote the development of overall bilateral relations.

Xi, who arrived here from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), will also travel to Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Yemen.

This is the first overseas visit by the Chinese vice president since he assumed office earlier this year.
