Editor-in-chiefs of China's Xinhua News Agency and the Mongolian News Agency said Wednesday they would strengthen cooperation in news reporting and personnel.

He Ping, editor-in-chief of China's Xinhua News Agency, on Wednesday met with Givaandondog Purevsambuu, visiting editor-in-chief of the Mongolian News Agency.

He Ping said that media organizations of the two countries have the responsibility and duty to promote understanding and friendship between the two peoples through their news reports.

He said the visit, made at the 50th anniversary of the establishment of cooperative ties between the two news agencies, will surely promote growth of friendly exchanges and cooperation between the two sides.

Purevsambuu said the Mongolian News Agency attaches importance to exchanges with Xinhua and hopes to broaden cooperation with Xinhua.
