China and Brazil have pledged to promote economic cooperation during a meeting on Friday between visiting Chinese senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) He Guoqiang and acting Amazonas state Governor Belarmino Lins.

He, member of the Political Bureau Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee, arrived at Manaus, capital of Amazonas, on Friday after a goodwill visit to Cuba and Trinidad and Tobago.

China and Brazil have their own advantages and they can use such advantages to realize common development, said He, who is also secretary of the CPC's Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.

He said that he hoped Amazonas will enhance cooperation with China and the Chinese government encourages Chinese businesses in the Brazilian state.

Amazonas will continue to create better investment and business environment so as to promote economic and trade cooperation with China, Lins said.

During his visit to Brazil, He also visited some Chinese enterprises in Manaus and Rio de Janeiro, urging them to make new contributions to Sino-Brazilian friendship and cooperation.

Brazil is the third leg of He's four-country visit that will also take him to Angola.
