All 6,000 medals required for the Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Games have been made, and they will be handed over to the Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee on July 3 in Beijing. This is what Clinton Dines told reporters during an interview. Clinton Dines is president of the China firm of Australia's BHP Billiton Ltd., official sponsor of the Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Games medals.
Clinton Dines said the Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Games each require 1,000 gold medals, 1,000 silver medals, 1,000 bronze medals: a total of 6,000. Chile provided 13.04 kg of raw gold to make 2000 gold medals; and 0.83 tons of electrolytic copper for 2,000 bronze metals. Australia supplied 1.34 tons of raw silver for 2,000 silver medals.
It is said that the complexity of creating the medals, together with the special requirements from the International Olympic Committee, make the standards for the production process and materials very high for the jade rings in medals. In the jade ring production, the processing error will be no more than 1 / 3 of a human hair.
