Chinese President Hu Jintao's special envoy Wang Yongqiu attended the coronation of Tonga's King George Tupou V in the capital city of Nuku'alofa on Friday, said a press release of the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

Wang Yongqiu, also China's special envoy to the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF), was in the South Pacific kingdom on Thursday and Friday for the coronation ceremony, and was received separately by King Tupou V, Prime Minister Feleti Vaka'uta Sevele, Crown Prince Tupouto'a Lavaka Ata, Princess Salote Pilolevu Tuita, and Foreign Minister Sonatane Tu'akinamolahi Taumoepeau Tupou.

The two sides exchanged views on ways of further developing China-Tonga relations, as well as other issues of common concern.
