Japanese Foreign Minister Masahiko Komura arrived here Saturday night for a 3-day visit to China.

Komura is scheduled to have talks with his Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi, and meet with Chinese State Councillor Dai Bingguo on Sunday.

According to reports, Komura said prior to his visit that he also wished to cheer on Japanese athletes at the Beijing Olympics and drum up support for Tokyo's bid for the 2016 Games.
