Chinese FM to attend late Zambian President's funeral, visit Bulgaria

Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi, as a special envoy of Chinese President Hu Jintao, will attend the funeral of the late Zambian President Levy Mwanawasa, announced a Foreign Ministry spokesperson on Friday.

Spokesperson Jiang Yu said Yang will stay in Zambia from Sept. 2 to 4.

Before that, Yang will pay an official visit to Bulgaria from Aug. 31 to Sept. 1 at the invitation of the country's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivailo Kalfin, according to Jiang.
