Chinese Minister of Public Security Meng Jianzhu Thursday said China and Vietnam should strengthen cooperation on public security, law enforcement and personnel exchange.

In a meeting with his Vietnamese counterpart Le Hong Anh, Meng, also a State Councilor, hailed the cooperation between the two ministries of public security in recent years.

Le, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, said his ministry was ready to strengthen cooperation with the Chinese side on striking cross-border crimes, especially abduction and traffic in women and children and drug trafficking.
