State Councilor Meng Jianzhu met with Surinamese Minister of Justice and Police Chandrikapersad Santokhi in Beijing Thursday.

Hailing the smooth development of China-Surinam relations, Mengsaid the two countries' exchanges and cooperation in justice and law enforcement are a major part of bilateral relationship, as well as important guarantee of its sound, stable and continuous development.

China will continue to enhance exchanges and cooperation in these areas with Surinam, so as to provide more effective legal service and guarantee for bilateral communication in various fields and promote economic and social development, Meng said.

Santokhi echoed Meng as saying that Surinam is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in justice and law enforcement with China and will make efforts in this regard.
