The press center of the seventh Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) summit opened in Beijing on Tuesday, offering round-the-clock news services to reporters from home and abroad.

The press center, located at the Beijing International Hotel, runs until Oct. 26. So far over 1,700 correspondents from home and abroad had registered to cover the summit, according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry.


The press center of the seventh Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) summit opens at the Beijing International Hotel on Oct. 21, 2008. The summit will be held from Oct. 24 to 25 in Beijing.(Xinhua/Lu Jinbo)

The seventh ASEM summit will be held from Oct. 24 to 25 in Beijing, drawing leaders and delegates from 45 Asian and European countries and organizations.

The ASEM summit has been held every two years since 1998.
