The China-ASEAN Chamber of Agricultural Commerce (CACAC), a regional multinational non-profit commerce chamber, was set up in Nanning on October 21.
The establishment of the organization presents a brand new platform for the exchange and cooperation between cooperatives in China and ASEAN countries, while also serving as the first international association for chief officers of domestic supply and marketing cooperatives.
Zhao Xianren, vice president of the All-China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives, said at the opening conference that there is lots of room for cooperation between China and ASEAN countries, which should not be limited to only the trading of agricultural materials. All member countries should take full advantage of the platform and carry out cooperation in sectors like agricultural materials production, technology development, capital operations, energy utilization and science and technology services.
