China and France should work jointly to strengthen cooperation and exchanges in the field of radio and TV, the head of the French media regulator said here Tuesday.
The Beijing Olympics has intensified the desire among the French public to know more about China, Michael Boyon, chairman of the Conseil Superieur de L'audiovisuel (CSA), said at a meeting with visiting Chinese official Qian Xiaoqian, deputy director of China's State Council Information Office.
He said the French audience expects to see more Chinese TV and movies, adding that the two countries should work together to promote understanding of China in France.
The CSA, an independent media monitoring institution whose members are appointed respectively by the French president and speakers of parliament, is responsible for supervising and regulating the country's public and private media operators.
