Liu Qi, member of the Political Bureau of the Communalist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and secretary of the Beijing municipal committee of CPC, left for a visits to South Africa and Britain on Thursday afternoon.

Liu will visit the above two countries at the invitation of the African National Congress of South Africa and the British government.

Liu, also head of the Beijing Olympic Games organizing committee, will attend a meeting of the International Olympic Committee in London.
