CPC delegation visits Sudan

A good-will delegation of the Communist Party of China left Khartoum on Wednesday, winding up a three-day official visit to Sudan.

The delegation, led by Chen Jiwa, deputy secretary of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Committee of the CPC, paid the visit at the invitation of Sudan's ruling National Congress Party (NCP).

During the visit, the Chinese delegation held talks with Sudanese officials including Presidential Adviser and Secretary for Foreign Affairs of the NCP Mustafa Osman Ismail, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Zubair Bashir Taha, Minister of Finance and National Economy Awad Ahmed Mohammed al-Jaz, Governor of the Khartoum State Abdul Halim Al Mutaafi.

Chen highly appreciated the smooth development of the relations between China and Sudan and between the two parties, and thanked the valuable support of the NCP for China on issues such as human rights, Taiwan and Tibet.

She also briefed the Sudanese side the measures taken by the Chinese government to counter the international financial crisis, the economic development in Guangxi and the construction of the CPC on the grassroots level.

The two sides held discussions on economic and trade cooperation between Guangxi and Sudan, especially in the fields of agriculture and sugar industry.

The Sudanese side warmly welcomed the visit of the Chinese delegation, said it highly appreciated the positive participation of China in the construction in Sudan, and thanked the indelible contribution of China in the economic development in Sudan.

The Sudanese side also hoped that the relations between the two countries and the two parties will be continuously advanced.

Before visiting Sudan, the delegation had paid a four-day visit to Iran.
