Nong Duc Manh, general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee, met with Wang Jiarui, minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee here on Monday to discuss bilateral ties.

Wang, who has just concluded the first minister meeting between the international departments of the CPC and CPV central committees with his Vietnamese counterpart, briefed Manh on the outcome of the meeting.

Wang said high-level visits between China and Vietnam are frequent this year. During Manh's visit to China in May this year, the two sides have agreed to develop comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. It will orient the long-term healthy and stable development of bilateral friendly ties.

Wang said China believed that in the context of complex changes in the regional and global situation, it is the common will of the two peoples to strengthen bilateral cooperation and advance the traditional friendship. It is also conducive to consolidating socialism in the two countries and strengthening the role of communist party role as the governing party.

Manh spoke highly of the outcome of the first minister meeting between the two international departments. He said bilateral relations have maintained fine development momentum in recent years. It is a new milestone in bilateral ties to develop comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. Vietnam would like to work together with China to push bilateral relations to a new high.

Wang started his visit to Vietnam on Dec. 26.
