China's ambassador to the United States Zhou Wenzhong will attend U.S. President-elect Barack Obama's inauguration on Jan. 20, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu said Thursday.

Sino-U.S. relations were in an important era and the two countries marked the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties this year, Jiang said at a regular press conference.

China was ready to work with the United States to advance the constructive partnership from a strategic and long-term perspective, she said.

China would work with the United States to deepen dialogue, exchanges and cooperation.

As the biggest developing and developed countries, China and the United States shared responsibilities for peace and development of the world, she added.
