Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan and U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner held phone talks Monday, agreeing to strengthen collaboration and cooperation in dealing with on-going financial crisis.

During their conversation, the two leaders stressed China-U.S. economic ties are an important component in bilateral relations.

They also agreed that under the current circumstances, enhancing collaboration of macro-economic policies between the two countries and cooperation in tackling the financial crisis are very important to safeguard the economic and financial stability of the two countries and the world as a whole.

Such collaboration and cooperation are also conducive to pushing forward the Sino-U.S. relations, they noted.
