Ma Xiaotian, deputy chief of general staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, left here Thursday afternoon for Singapore and New Zealand.

He was scheduled to attend the 2nd China-Singapore defense policy dialogue and the 2nd armed forces strategic consultation between China and New Zealand.

The two talks were launched respectively in 2008 and 2007.
