The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) announced Tuesday that it had received formal notification from the Palau authority reconfirming that HKSAR passport holders would be issued, free of charge, entry permit-on-arrival for a stay up to 30 days in Palau.

"We welcome the clarification made by the Palau authority and believe the arrangement will facilitate the exchange between people of the two places. We also understand that the travel trade and airlines have been informed of the clarification," an HKSAR Government spokesman said.

At present, 137 countries/territories have granted visa-free access or visa-on-arrival to HKSAR passport holders.
