Liu Yunshan, head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met here Friday with a cadre delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) led by Hoang Xuancu, member of its central committee.

Liu, also a member of both the Political Bureau and the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, spoke highly of the expanded bilateral cooperation in various fields since the General Secretaries of both parties reached a consensus on developing China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

Communications between the CPC and the CPV on socialist theories and practice have also deepened, said Liu.

During his meeting with Liu, Hoang said Vietnam and China share a long-standing traditional friendship.

"Vietnam is willing to make concerted efforts with China to carry out consensus of top leaders of the two countries and continue to expand cooperation between the two parties and countries," he said.

In response, Liu said China is ready to work with Vietnam to enrich the connotation of bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership under the guidance of the 16-word principle of "long-term stability, facing the future, good-neighborliness and friendship, and all-round cooperation."
