Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi and Nepalese counterpart Upendra Yadav Wednesday agreed to strengthen cooperation between their two countries.
Yang said Sino-Nepalese relations had developed at a sound momentum with frequent contacts, fruitful cooperation, and close communication and coordination in international and regional affairs.
"China is willing to work with Nepal to strengthen friendly communication and cooperation so as to realize mutual benefit and joint development," Yang said.
Yadav hailed the relationship between the two countries, saying both sides had always respected, understood and supported each other.
Yadav said the Sino-Nepalese relationship set a good model for peaceful coexistence and friendly cooperation between neighboring countries. Nepal wanted to keep high-level contacts, strengthen cooperation and enhance friendship with China.
Yang also expressed his appreciation for Nepal's consistent support for China on the Tibetan issue.
Yadav reiterated Nepal's position on adhering to the one-China policy, recognizing Tibet as an inalienable part of China and opposing any force carrying out anti-China activities in the Nepalese territory.
