On April 6 combine harvesters were used harvest high quality rice in the outskirts of Xai-Xai, the capital of Gaza Province, Mozambique. In 2007 China's Hubei Province and Mozambique's Gaza Province became sister provinces and signed a 3000-hectare rice planting cooperation project. At present, China has achieved initial success in rice planting trials by using its advanced technology and high-quality varieties in the local fertile black soil with an average rice yield of up to 10 tons per hectare.
