U.S. special envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan Richard Holbrooke will visit China from April 15 to 16, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu announced here Tuesday at a regular press conference.

Jiang said that China and the United States were discussing the detailed schedule of Holbrooke's visit.

Holbrooke, former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, was named in January this year by U.S. President Barack Obama as a special envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan.
