The Africa delegation included 21 women from political parties and women organizations of more than 10 African countries.

They came to Beijing for a seminar on women issues, a program under the framework of Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.

Chen, also vice chairwoman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, the country's legislature, briefed them on the general situation of Chinese women, including their livelihood, education and health.

Chen also met separately with a six-member Chilean women delegation, who were here for an international conference on women and disaster reduction.
