Hong Kong Secretary for Transport and Housing Eva Cheng Monday left for Manila to attend the two-day Sixth Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Transportation Ministerial Meeting that starts on April 28.
According to the Hong Kong government website on Monday, during the meeting, transportation ministers and senior officials from the APEC region will discuss issues that will encourage the development of safe, secure and efficient regional transportation systems, including seamless and sustainable transport, enhanced transport security and safety, and innovation and the use of advanced technology in transportation.
Attendees will also discuss the role of transportation in responding to the global financial crisis.
Cheng will give a presentation on enhancing regional connectivity through transport infrastructure on April 29.
