The Northwest Airline, a wholly subsidiary of the Delta Airlines, will launch direct flight linking Shanghai and Detroit since June 3, the company's Beijing office said Saturday.
Passengers can reach more than 140 cities in north America and major central American cities via Detroit, a U.S. transport hub.
Flight NW 90 will take off at 9:25 a.m. every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from Shanghai, and reach Detroit at 11:10 a.m., local time.
Flight NW 89 will leave Detroit at 3:45 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, and arrive in Shanghai at 6:20 p.m. the next day.
The flight will be undertaken by Boeing 747-400 aircraft.
Delta Airlines, the Atlanta-based carrier, became the largest airlines in the world after consolidating with the Northwest Airline in October 2008.
