The second China-Japan high-level economic dialogue is scheduled to be held on June 7 in Tokyo, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang said in Beijing Monday.

Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan and Japanese Foreign Minister Hirofumi Nakasone will co-chair the dialogue, Qin said in a press release, noting heads and senior officials of the two countries' relevant departments will attend the dialogue.

The high-level economic dialogue mechanism was jointly launched by Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and then Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe during Wen's trip to Japan in April 2007.

The first China-Japan high-level economic dialogue was held in Beijing, China in December 2007.
