Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping on Thursday met with visiting Lesotho's Foreign Minister Mohlabi Kenneth Tsekoa on bilateral relations.

"China-Lesotho relations have kept a good momentum of growth since both countries resumed diplomatic ties in 1994," Xi said, citing stronger political trust, impressive progress in economic, trade, cultural, public health cooperation and close coordination in international issues.

Xi thanked the Lesotho's government for adhering to the one-China policy and supporting China on Taiwan and Tibet related issues.

Xi also appreciated Lesotho's generous donation to China following the 8.0-magnitude earthquake which hit southwest China's Sichuan Province in May 2008.

Tsekoa, on a week-long visit to China, thanked China's assistance in infrastructure, human resources training, education and health.

Earlier Thursday, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi held talks with Tsekoa, signing a cooperative deal on economy and technology.
