Chinese and Portuguese media should enhance their cooperation so as to promote mutual understanding between the two peoples, said a senior Chinese government press officer here on Monday.
At a seminar in Lisbon, Qian Xiaoqian, vice director of the Information Office of China's State Council, exchanged views with Portugal's China scholars on China's development and Sino-Portuguese relations.
He said China is striving to develop in a scientific, harmonious and sustainable way and ensure all its citizens can benefit from the process.
Qian also stressed the importance of Macao in shaping Sino-Portuguese relations, saying that China will hold a ceremony celerbrating the 10th anniversary of the return of Macao to China.
Besides, more cultural activities will be held in Macao to boost exchanges between China and Portugal, he said.
