China's government and Communist Party would work with Kazakhstan to cope with the impact of the international financial crisis, Vice President Xi Jinping said Tuesday.

Xi made the remarks during a meeting with Darkhan Kaletayev, vice chairman of the People's Democratic Party of Kazakhstan and his delegation.

Xi said bilateral strategic relations had developed rapidly with frequent high-level exchanges, expanded cooperation and increased trust.

Hailing the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the two parties, Xi said the document would enrich the bilateral partnership, and the regular exchange mechanism would help improve the governance ability of both parties.

Kaletayev said Kazakhstan was committed to developing its strategic partnership with China and would strengthen cooperation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and other international organizations.

He also said China's measures to deal with the global financial crisis impressed the international community.
