Visiting China's special envoy on Middle East affairs Wu Sike stressed on Wednesday that China is willing to support Lebanon and its demands in all international organizations, local Elnashra website reported.

Wu Sike affirmed during his meeting with Lebanese President Michel Suleiman that China is highly interested in the Lebanese role in the Middle East.

"China supports the Arab peace initiative and is keen on implementing international resolutions mainly the UN resolution 1701," the Chinese envoy was quoted as saying.

He also expressed his hope for more stability and prosperity on all levels, stressing that China will always support Lebanon.

For his part, Lebanese President Michel Suleiman stressed to his Chinese visitor that peace in the Middle East should be based on the Arab peace initiative, and should return the Palestinian rights to its people.

Suleiman stressed that peace cannot be reached without the Arabpeace initiative, the return of Palestinians and the implementation of UN resolution 1701, as well as the withdrawal of Israel from Shebaa Farms, Kfarshouba Hills and the northern part of Ghajar.

Earlier Wednesday, Wu Sike met with Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Seniora.
