Ukrainian PM meets senior Chinese official on bilateral ties

Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko on Thursday met and discussed bilateral ties with Wang Gang, member of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Political Bureau, a Chinese official said Friday.

During the meeting, Tymoshenko said Ukraine-China ties have developed smoothly in recent years.

Ukraine is willing to further boost cooperation with China in trade and economy, especially in agriculture, infrastructure, aviation and space industries, in a bid to continuously enhance Ukraine-China ties.

Wang, also vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, China's top advisory body, conveyed to Tymoshenko Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao's greetings.

Wang said China-Ukraine ties have maintained a good momentum for sound and steady further development. The two countries have had frequent high-level exchanges, deepened their political mutual trust, and enabled their bilateral cooperation in various fields to yield fruitful results.

He said China appreciates the Ukrainian government's taking the development of its ties with China as a high priority in its foreign policy, and China has all along considered Ukraine its sincere and reliable partner.

He expressed China's readiness to work together with Ukraine to deepen bilateral cooperation in various fields, expand cultural exchanges, and continuously push forward the all-round friendly and cooperative partnership between the two countries.
