25 Nepalese students to study in China on Chinese scholarships

A group of 25 Nepalese students will begin post graduate program in China on scholarships offered by the Chinese government.

"You are expected to further promote China-Nepal friendship in China," Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Qiu Guohong told the students in Nepal's capital Kathmandu on Tuesday.

Minister of Education of Nepal Dr. Ramswaroop Sinha said to the students, "Each of you represent our country. I hope you will maintain our country's and your own reputation in the neighboring country."

Every year Nepal sends 25 students to China for post graduate program on Chinese scholarships. The Education Ministry of Nepal is in talks with the Chinese authorities to increase the quota.

According to the ministry, it is holding meeting with Tianjin municipal government to provide 20 more scholarships to Nepalese students for medical study.
