The visiting delegation of the Communist Party of China (CPC), led by a member of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau and Party chief of China's Tianjin municipality Zhang Gaoli, on Tuesday met Nepali President Ram Baran Yadav in Nepali capital Kathmandu.

The two sides held cordial talk, focusing on issues of strengthening Sino-Nepali cooperative friendship, promoting bilateral pragmatic cooperation, and of others of mutual interest.

Zhang Gaoli conveyed greetings of Chinese President Hu Jintao to President Yadav at the very beginning of the meet.

Zhang Gaoli said China and Nepal are friendly neighbors bonded by the Himalayas and rivers.

With efforts made mutually, the Sino-Nepali relationship has been developing consistently, healthily and stably, Zhang said, adding that China appreciated Nepal's precious and persistent support for Chinese government's stance on the Tibet-related issues among others.

China will join hands with Nepal to consolidate friendly neighborship, deepen pragmatic cooperation, realize win-win mutual benefits and continuously promote Sino-Nepali friendship.

President Yadav extended his warm greetings to President Hu Jintao.

Yadav said Nepal treasures the historic Nepal-China traditional friendship. He said Nepal is grateful for the sincere support and help Chinese government and people have been extending for Nepal's economic and social development.

Yadav highly spoke of China's positive role in Nepal's peace process.

Nepal will firmly adhere to one-China policy, hopes to see China's national reunion and supports the just causes Chinese people have been engaged in.

Starting the five-day visit to Nepal since Monday, the CPC delegation has met Nepali Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, Nepali Foreign Affairs Minister Sujata Koirala, Chairman Prachanda of the Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist), President Girija Prasad Koirala of Nepali Congress and Chairman Jhalanath Khanal of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist).

The delegation, invited by the government of Nepal, Sri Lanka Freedom Party, Maldivian Democratic Party and Senate of the Philippines, is on good-will visits to Nepal, Sri Lanka, the Maldives and the Philippines.
