The fast growth of China has aided the world's peace and development, Miloslav Vlcek, speaker of the Czech Parliament's Chamber of Deputies, said Wednesday.

China is one of the nations that has registered rapid economic growth the current global climate, Vlcek said at a reception celebrating the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC) and the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the Czech Republic.

Huo Yuzhen, the Chinese ambassador to the Czech Republic, said that the friendship between China and the Czech Republic has a long history.

The Czech Republic, Huo said, was among the first group of countries that established diplomatic relations with China 60 years ago.

Since the founding of New China, especially during the era of implementing the reform and opening-up policy, China has accomplished much and its international status and influence has improved remarkably, she said.

Huo said she hoped that through joint efforts, bilateral relations will continue to achieve good development in the future.
