The artifacts and photography exhibition on "Sun Yat-sen, Soong Ching-ling and the Soviet Union," jointly sponsored by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation and the Russia-China Friendship Association (RCFA), opened at Soong Ching-lin's former residence in Beijing on September 25.

Around 200 people attended the opening, including relevant officials from the United Front Work Department under the CPC Central Committee, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Soong's close friends, experts and scholars, university student and teacher representatives, a delegation from the RCFA, and personnel from the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation and Russian institutions in China.

The exhibition displays over 70 photographs and nearly 80 valuable artifacts. The exhibits comprise not only collections from Soong's former residence but also historical archives provided by the State Archive of the Russian Federation. Of these, Sun Yat-sen's last letter to the Soviet Union, letters between Sun Yat-sen and the Soviet government, and relevant written instructions from Vladimir Lenin, Russian crafts, books and disks collected by Soong are all being displayed to the public for the first time.

In addition, to support the "Year of Russian Language" activity in China, the texts introducing photographs and artifacts on display are all in both Chinese and Russian languages, and the exhibition intensively displays several Russian newspapers and letters.

The exhibition on "Sun Yat-sen, Soong Ching-ling and the Soviet Union" is being held during the 60th anniversary of both the establishment of China-Russia diplomatic ties and the founding of the RCFA, and in the "Year of Russian Language" in China. The exhibition will last one month.
