A celebration ceremony marking the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China was held by local friendship association here on Friday.

The ceremony is hosted by the Hanoi branch of the Vietnam-China Friendship Association. China's national day is to fall on Oct. 1.

"China has scored great achievements in the past 60 years, especially since it adopted the reform and open-up policy," said Hoang Vinh Giang, chairman of the association.

Chinese economy has grown in a fast and stable way, while Chinese people's livelihood has greatly improved, said Giang.

China and Vietnam have decided to develop all-round strategic cooperative partnership, said Hoang. He believed the bilateral relations will be continuously consolidated and developed.

Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Sun Guoxiang said at the ceremony that bilateral relations between China and Vietnam are developing in an all-round way.

Next year will mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the bilateral diplomatic relations, said Sun. China and Vietnam will hold various activities to mark the occasion and bilateral relations will be further enriched through these activities, said Sun.

About 200 people from Vietnam and China attended the ceremony.
