Greetings on the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China

GREETINGS ON THE 60TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FOUNDING OF THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC

The Communist Party of Britain sends its greetings to the Communist Party of China on the occasion of the 60th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China.

The founding of the People's Republic marked a historic step forward for humanity. In 1949 the birth of the People's Republic transformed the balance of world forces in a progressive direction. Today the growing strength of the People’s Republic gives hope and inspiration to all those struggling for a world without war and imperialism.

Our party salutes the steady adherence of the Communist Party of China to the goal of socialism and its commitment to the principles of international cooperation, peace and development.

In today's world the policies adopted by the People's Republic has demonstrated the critical importance of the social ownership of the means of production in combating the effects of the world economic crisis. Equally, the achievement of the People's Republic over the past two decades in lifting over 400 million people out of poverty is without parallel in human history. The lessons are of central significance for working people everywhere.

The British working class movement gave solidarity to China's liberation in 1949. British Communists will pledge themselves to work for continuing solidarity.
