Pakistani president meets Chinese auditor general

Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari met here with Auditor General of China Liu Jiayi at the Presidency on Saturday evening.

President Zardari welcomed the Chinese auditor general for participating in the 11th Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions Assembly in Pakistan.

The president highlighted that auditing is a key to good governance and that is why the government has made an opposition leader a Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee in the National Assembly to ensure transparency.

Liu Jiayi said that the already existing close cooperation between the auditor generals of China and Pakistan will be further enhanced to the mutual benefit.

The president expressed satisfaction on the level of cooperation between the auditor generals of Pakistan and China and hoped that it will further strengthen with the passage of time.

The meeting was attended by the Auditor General of Pakistan Tanvir Ali Agha, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Luo Zhaohui, Secretary General to the President M. Salman Faruqui and some other senior officials.
