Erotic reader silenced but not forgotten

A Shanghai court ordered the shutdown of a website popular for its erotic audio books and sentenced a young woman whose voice was used on the books. But the woman's sexy stories are even hotter today as countless people are desperately searching the Internet for her recordings.

The 23-year-old woman surnamed Ma, of Shandong Province, was arrested in Beijing in March and was sentenced to two years in prison with a two-year suspension, according to the Shanghai-based Wenhui Daily.

Many Internet users are clicking into her fan club at tieba.baidu.com, pleading to download her pornographic audio books.

"I wish anyone who could offer me the whole collection of her audio books a good life. Many thanks," one Internet user said.
The female, who was dubbed as "No. 1 voice actress," was hired to record erotic audio books on the website www.ilisten.cn.
The Shanghai-based website, established in 2006, provided audio recordings of erotic stories. The website was little known until it launched "Night Talk" last year. The website hired young women to read erotic novels, the newspaper reported.

The "Night Talk" service attracted 2 million hits, recorded 260,000 downloads and had sales of about 40,000 yuan ($5,900). It published 953 episodes of erotic fiction last year.
The website recruited female broadcasters from across the nation. The broadcasters, including Ma, were paid 40 yuan ($5) an hour.

Three people operating the website were also sentenced to prison for between two years to three years and a half, and fined between 30,000 yuan ($4,393) and 50,000 yuan ($7,321).
