Students from the Confucius Institute at the University of Lome on Thursday went to the Chinese Embassy in Togo to visit the photo exhibition on achievements since the Beijing summit on Sino-African cooperation.

Chinese Ambassador Yang Min encouraged the students to contribute to the cultural exchanges between Africa and China. and to the bilateral cooperation and friendship in the future.

"China has really opened up to the world," said Wadjama Mohamed, a fourth year student studying Geography at the University of Lome.

The student said the photos demonstrated that China had invested a lot in Africa within the framework of Sino-African cooperation.

"Everything is clear," said Osseni Wali, a second year Philosophy student, noting that he was satisfied with the bilateral cooperation between China and Togo.

Ms Akaya Medewa, a first year student in the Faculty of Economics, said she enrolled at the Confucius Institute to better understand the Chinese culture and also use the opportunity to further her commercial dreams.

"China is today a power house that is not blowing their own trumpet," said Ameteku Selom, a fourth year History student, who welcomed the idea of Chinese companies coming to Africa because, in his opinion, this will be beneficial to the African continent.
