Chinese FM talks with British counterpart on bilateral ties via phone

Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi Monday held a telephone conversation with British Foreign Secretary David Miliband, exchanging views on promoting bilateral ties.

Both sides agreed to make joint efforts to promote healthy and stable development of the two countries' relations and boost cooperation on the basis of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit.

The two top diplomats also exchanged views over Afghanistan and Iran nuclear issues.

Yang is currently in Algeria on a two-day visit.
