Vietnamese party chief vows to enhance ties with China

General Secretary of Vietnamese Communist Party Central Committee Nong Duc Manh said here on Tuesday that Vietnam vows to promote comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with China.

Manh made the remarks when meeting with a delegation of the Chinese National People's Congress (NPC) headed by Yan Junqi, vice chairwoman of the NPC Standing Committee.

At the meeting, Manh said bilateral relations have developed in an all-round way in recent years. The two sides have seen fruitful outcomes in cooperation in all fields.

Manh said this year marks the 60th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties and the Vietnam-China Year of Friendship. He expected the two countries could take this opportunity to strengthen cooperation and push forward bilateral relations to a new height.

For her part, Yan said China-Vietnam relations have developed continuously in the past years. It serves fundamental interests of the two peoples and is conducive to regional peace, stability and development to enrich bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

Yan said China is ready to work with Vietnam to expand friendly exchanges and cooperation to push forward bilateral ties.
