China, New Zealand vow to boost military ties

China and New Zealand agreed to further boost military ties during a meeting of senior military officials Monday.
China-New Zealand relations are at an all-time high, with frequent high-level visits, increased political mutual trust and rapid growth in mutually-beneficial cooperation, Vice Chairman of China's Central Military Commission Guo Boxiong said in a meeting in Beijing with visiting New Zealand Secretary of Defense John McKinnon.
China-New Zealand military ties have developed smoothly, Guo said, citing deepened cooperation in various fields.
China hopes to work with New Zealand to strengthen dialogue and exchange between the two nations' armed forces, Guo said.
McKinnon said New Zealand hopes to further boost military ties with China, deepen communication and exchange, and expand cooperation, so as to jointly safeguard regional peace and stability.
