DPRK vows to strengthen friendship with China: FM

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) would continue its efforts to further strengthen the DPRK-China friendship built during the Anti-Japanese War, Foreign Minister Pak Ui Chun said Friday.

Pak make the remarks during his speech at a reception held by the Chinese Embassy to commemorate the 65th anniversary of victory in the Chinese people's Anti-Japanese War and the world's Anti-Fascism War.

DPRK leader Kim Il Sung and Chinese revolutionists built the unbreakable DPRK-China friendship during the tough Anti-Japanese War, Pak said.

To further strengthen the friendship, which would be passed on for generations, was the invariable position of the DPRK's party and government, he said.

Chinese Ambassador to the DPRK Liu Hongcai said the Chinese people would like to make constant efforts to promote the cause of human peace and development with people from all over the world, including the DPRK people.

Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, and Ri Ul Sol, representative of veterans of the Anti-Japanese War and marshal of the Korean People's Army attended the event.

Japan signed the official capitulation on Sept. 2, 1945, marking the end of the Anti-Fascism War.
